You have to go to a bank that exchanges money. Not all banks do. They charge a fee to convert the money so everyone is welcome.

Any national bank should be able to convert your $$. You do not need to belong to the bank. There is always an exchange fee which will vary from bank to bank. Even if you are a customer of that bank you will most likely get charge the exchange fee.

Happy Sunday !

Many banks have a policy that they only provide this service for current customers. If your local bank won't exchange currency for you, you can try a local office of American Express Travel Services

or Travelex
http://www.travelex.com/us/

Both companies charge a fee for this service.
