Where can I meet people over 30 who like punk and rock music in my own area? I am in the UK. I have friends but they all like R& B and I hate going to clubs with them coz I'm not that keen on the music. I go to college but the only ones who like this music and dress punk or emo are youngsters and they are not on my wavelength.

Try going to www.thespeedfreaksball.co.uk. This is a collection of people who are into punk, psychobilly and ska music who attend the Speedfreaks Ball in Yarmouth. Most of us 30+ as we have been into punk etc most of their lives. Great crowd and very freindly. Someone there should be able to point you in the right direction as to nearest clubs etc. Hope this helps and maybe you'll join us at the next Speedfreaks Ball.

well... i dont live in the UK... no where near 30.... and im not punk.... or emo. i think the only things we have in common is we both hate R&B and were both gals. i love punk rock music. oldies are good too. i real into the whole british invasion... bands like the clash and the who. i think were getting another one and im loving it.

why don't you just brave it & start going to your local punk/rock bar on your own, you're bound to make some new friends your own age there.
My sister sings in a punk rock band here in france. They're called the surrender monkeys. they're all different ages in the band, she's 21 & the eldest is in his 50's. they're really good.
I don't think you should get too hung up on the age thing. we're all individuals after all.

people sarrounding u, can not change there choices becaise of there age, so, u got to change your choice as them. start to take interest in their choice and one day u will find that u have started to like rock music and clubing as well, otherwise say at home, alon, lonely, sad and isolated.
