What is a good percent average to have if you are aiming to get into harvard, stanford, or yale?

If by percent you mean GPA, you should have an unweighted 3.8+ and weighted 4.1+ on a scale of 4. But they look at a lot more than just your GPA, you have to do very well on the ACT or SAT and be really involved in your school through sports and activities. Gain as many leadership positions as possible and try hard in school.

you will need a very, very high gpa...between 3.8 and 4.0. They also want to see high SAT scores. But grades and tests aren't everything. They want kids who have potential...not just in terms of grades. They want to see that you are a leader, someone who takes risks, well rounded, and in some ways, a little different. the ivy league and similar schools (ie stamford, mit, etc) have the power to reject whoever they want. they often turn down good kids who could well at their school just to keep their percentage rate low. therefore, be sure to apply to lots of schools. for example, stamford, harvard, and princeton may flat out reject you, but yale, cornell, and a school like georgetown may accept you. good luck!!

Well if you have a rich family member who can make a huge donation to the school (1 million pluss), you may be able to get in that way, regarldess of your GPA.

I think only 4% of applicants get into those colleges.
