Yes, those who provided seemingly trivial observations have rightly underlined the point that, ... what was that? ... "little drops of water... make the mighty ocean" etc. But let me make a different observation.
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka. Context: the usual Third World country, a government thriving on the hysteria generated by an unending civil war; a small (English educated) minority first dominating a majority who are quite educated - in the "native language medium". Yes, they first dominate, these WOGs and spouses, then migrate. The anti-Western majority ironically seem to half take over G.W. Bush-Logic. They crowd into the capital wanting English education for their children - and don't get it.
Yes, education is seen as vital. Villagers migrate to the town. Land prices are incredibly high. Second-hand cars imported from Japan are called reconditioned. Taxed by the government they get to be very expensive; still they come in and clog our roads.
Well, WHAT have I DONE? An aging English teacher, I've chucked up my job in Colombo and I've been doing all I can, during the last three months, to work with a partner to take over a dying (no, moribund, actually) school in idyllic countryside, elevation 4,000 feet. I had schooled there myself ages ago. Sixty acres of wooded land; buildings able to house seven hundred boarders - the possibilities are endless. Yes, I did send off five carefully thought out e-mails in the last twenty hours. THAT is what I claim to have done, today.
I can't obviously say anything more specific. Waiting for the results, I am. The meeting must be over: fifteen of the most powerful and intelligent (but also over-busy) men (please don't label me an MCP! - clarity and accuracy must come before trying to be up with vogue vocabulary); the busy men as I say must have decided by now. I'll know tomorrow.
In sum: "Back to the land" is a very necessary cry in Third World Countries. I'm trying to assist this move.

A very nice question, thanks Karma! I did and did not do anything special today. I came home back from my job this morning, watched a move- Gridiron gang, slept and got up at 4pm. Took a shower and sat on the internet to study. I also post a question today: Can a 'Designed Built-Environment' deter the actions of criminals? I atleast gave a thought on this topic to make this life a better place to live and to make it more livable. It makes me feel special today. After this, i'll hit back to study. bye and cheers.

Today i watched my Baby [ Alsatian] walk along slightly dragging his foot . He has Hip displacia. I know he has it but he does not know that he has it if you know what i mean. So he saw a squirrell and tried to chase it [ amazing how fast he can move when he wants to chase squirrells ] i called him, moaned at him and glad that , that was one more creature still alive today. I took him home, cuddled him and thanked him for being my friend and confidante. I love my dog he is never two-faced, evil or just plain mean. I am going to miss him one day.:))

Yes, I've fed and held my granddaughter and shown love for my family. Helping to raise a child with love will improve the world. If you can show your family love you can learn to show it to your neighbors and friends and if we are lucky the entire community.

I think so.. . I have both given and received love. . .I like to keep these 'good works' little secrets between God and me. I am but one small person and I try to infuse my world with love and I am so full of happiness . . .that sometimes i feel that i receive as much love back as I give out. Great question. I believe that God would rather see us doing good works than debating vain theologies.

I planted a small tree in out neighbohood...
It will grow up ang provide shade, and is anticipated to give dates later, where the poor can feed on.
