well i'm already getting idiots that only repeat the lies that they've been told, so:
if legalized, there would be no more drug dealers( like there are no more bootleggers)-no drug dealers means: no crime, no un-taxed money, no criminal profit
if legalized, we can spend more money(from taxing drugs) to fund programs that teach the truth about drugs.
if legalized, there will still be drug tests for jobs (so use would be the same)
and also, drugs don't harm anyone but the one who uses them: which is diff from murder and rape, crimes that DO hurt others and crime that should be punished.

that's tough

we make laws to have structure and these laws are good for keeping people in check

with drugs you get a lot of crime.. Not good for the USA
more homless people Not good
More deaths and poorer health Not Good
Less accomplished people Not good for economy

and people would be more apt to trying drugs and you would get more people that have serious problems

now there are some drugs that could be legalized but in reality, there are just to many dumb people that would mess it up for everyone else.

prostitution should be legal

marijuana.. sure

crack--- no
meth----no
Lsd----fun but no
Extacy--- possiblie with government standards and regulations
but you see these if taken to much or in to large a dose can result in death.. And you just know that some dumb kid would kill him/herself so

ya No they should not be legal

but I will say one other thing... drug laws for things like Marijuana sales shouldn't be anything more then a fine

Drugs are a form of control.
Think about this who make/ grow the drugs? I am not saying little things like weed which can be grown by large group of people I am talking complex chemicals like Meth-amphetamines (I know people make the stuff in their kitchen but they don't make the base components). Most drugs are addictive that is the truth just look at caffine how many people need that to wake in the morning? In your quest for personal freedom you will simply become a slave. I understand where you are coming from, the need to have the personal choice of doing something.

I'm a libertarian. I think drugs, prostitution, etc should be legalized so they can be controlled and the street thugs would be out of business, crime reduced, etc.

I don't use drugs, never even tried them, and I certainly don't have anything to do with prostitution, but I think the countries that have those things legalized are in a much better position than we are. Compare their crime rates to ours, and you'll see what I mean.

Mind altering drugs are bad for society as a whole. People who use them regularly dont work & contribute to society. People who are always high are a drain on the medical system & often tap taxpayer money. They raise kids poorly & increase societies loser population.

Yes, by all means do away with the criminal justice system. After all, it is a free country.

well, its funny i just had this debate with a friend. if you don't abuse drugs/alcohol, its okay but marijuana and all that stuff is just mental abuse, but as a plus it benefits when it comes to medicine, but should you be allowed to give heavy drugs to little kids? like for example a first grader. but i understand where your coming from. our society is crazy. we will just have to wait until 2008

Yeah and if legalized we'd have more deaths and overdoeses and an even bigger depletion of the health system. You're the one with no facts for posting a uneducated and stupid question such as this.
