My screen and computer keep turning on by themselves two to five minutes after I put my computer in standby.?

(I just got a new monitor). Any ideas on why this is happening?

Your computer may be set to "wake on LAN" -- i.e., come out of standby in response to network traffic. Go into device manager, select your network adapter and go to the Power Management screen to see if this is active, and go into the BIOS (setup when the computer first starts) to disable wake on LAN.

Are you sure you logoff is on standby and not on restart?
