I bought one of those kits where you get everything in it I bought a Fender one and I want to learn to play 6 string electic guitar.

I was wondering what the best kind of strings to use were and where to get them from, I am hoping to play punk-rock kinda music like Blink 182 etc

For heavy tone of punk rock type stuff, try GHS Boomers .10's or Enrnie Ball slinky series in 10's. You can get them at any music store. They are about 8 to 10 bucks a set. Get a few extra high E strings, because they break alot. You can buy them in singles in most music shops. If 10's hurt you fingers, and they will, start with 9's for awhile and work your way up. They are thinner, so you don't have as meaty a tone, but they won't thrash your fingers as much. Just go to the music store and say you need a set of Ernie Ball electric tens and you will be fine. Or 9's if you want thinner. Good choice in fender. They are the hardest guitars to play, but have the most character. Good luck and never stop playing. It makes people happy. I am Diana's friend Dan. Good luck. Oh, if you ever get bored and need a change, tune your guitar to DADGAD low to high. It's fun to noodle with.
