Did you have children so you could profit from them? Take the compliments and leave it at that. It's a baby not a work horse.

I joined an agency last week and we have done a photoshoot already for wal-mart baby with my 5 month old girl.
You have to find an agency in your area, It really depends on two things, luck and location.
I live right in the city of Toronto, they film many many movies here. Also if your agency has a baby that is the same size and eye/hair colour, they may not need your baby.
There are tons and tons of cute babies out there. My baby is gorgeous too, but that doesnt mean she is guaranteed work again. :( Or she may get 5 booking/week... you never know!
You should never ever pay for any professional pictures for an infant. You will have to replace the pictures to the agency every two months anyways.
The most you will have to pay is a one-time yearly fee of 1-200$
Do a search for agencys and infant modelling. When you find the agency, send in 5 pictures of your babys face with no hats not too busy a background and not wearing black or white (casts shadows)
Mail the pictures to the agency with a cover letter that states you are requesting representation, and your childs Age, weight, height, personality, experience and anything else you think might be relevant. Also add if you are available (bookings are almost always 9-5 and my agency would not even take on a baby unless a parent is available during those hours.
You could call 2 weeks later to follow up.
good luck!
p.s ....you wont rob them of being a normal happy baby, the photoshoots are 15-20 minutes long, and there is a second baby if yours is fussy. All she did was drool, smile and grab the models breasts.
As far as giving your baby a normal life, the odds of getting famous are incredibly slim! I just want to have something that my baby and I can do together that doesnt cost me money!
Everthing in moderation is ok, if she does a little bit of work then she will develop self confidence! any sport or anything can be dangerous if you takeyourself too seriously! Just do it to have fun :) make a little college money and have some cute pictures.
Another point, you wont end up in the poorhouse, it shouldnt cost you more than the initial fee, if it is you are getting ripped off.
You wont make any money either, the photoshoot we did was 15 minutes and we got $75, this is standard for catalogue work unless you get a commerical or advertisement.
Unfortunately however, if you dont live within 2 hours of a major city, ... then there is not point.....

Never pay. All three of my babies were cute Gerber babies per everyone else...and with two redheads I got told often how I should model them. To really do it...you have to take them to auditions and make their whole life about it...and then you are robbing them of being a normal happy baby. Of all the babies in the world...just a small percentage of those whose parents try to model them make it...the rest of the parents usually end up in the poorhouse trying.
So while it sounds so appealing and you know you have one of the babies with natural appeal/talent...you are making the best choice to be the best mom and give your child a normal life.

Unfortunately, the other responders are wrong. You DO have to pay. You have to pay modeling agencies good money to make great head shots, body shots, glamour shots. Kids don't JUST GET DISCOVERED, they are groomed by parents and agencies. If you want to spend the money and the time you might get your child on a magazine or television ad, but remember with all things there is a price. Is this something YOU want? Not that there is anything wrong with that, however, be prepared to stop showcasing your child when they get to schoolage.

All babies are considered cute and adorable. To introduce kids that young into a grown-world you might be risking somethings. Yes the pay is get and extra income is always welcome. But look at the life of the celebrities now that have broke into the business as cute babies.....The Olson Twins!!!!!

Don't ever pay, those people are crooks. FYI: everyone says those things to everyone else's babies.
