i had a baby 3 weeks ago and got stiches on that little peice of skin between my vagina and my anus where i tore. The nurse in the hospital that day said no intercoarse for 6 weeks (cuz thats when my next docters oppointment will be). But I have no pain at all down there, and really want to have sexual intercoarse. Is it going to kill me really to just have sex now?? putting the nurses orders aside? Honestly.

Being a physician, I would have to say that you need to wait until you see your personal doctor about this. There is simply no way you can personally know if it will be harmful until you either have sex or let your physician examine you.
And if you go with the former of the two, you will probably end up with some damage, and severe pain if anything goes wrong.
My advice: Don't have intercourse. Do try to up the date of the appointment. Do leave a msg. for your Dr. to get him/her to answer your question on the phone if he feels he can.

I had my baby 4 weeks ago, and I had an episiotomy also, and I started to have sex again at 3 weeks, because I felt fine. It will hurt though, the first time (and maybe even a few times after that) but you should be fine. Just make sure your stitches are completely dissolved. Take it slow, make sure you use a lot of lube, and protection (you can get pregnant really easy after having a baby.)

Good luck, and congrats on the baby! :)

they say six weeks, not because of you not having any pain by then, but because of INFECTION. The cervix may take that long to close up, and you having sex will only risk an infection starting. You can't tell if you are healed INSIDE. Better to be safe than sorry!

My Nefews mother had sex 5 days after birth and stitches. She tore and had to go back to the hospital. That was how my brother found out she was cheating... because the sex was not with him.
(Just reminded me of that.)
I would not suggest having sex before the Dr. gives the Ok.

GAWD!!!! Listen to your nurse/doctor. If they said 6 weeks, wait 6 weeks. Just because there is no pain doesn't mean anything. You could worsen it.

I think it really takes you knowing your body. I waited 4 weeks with DS1 and 4 days with DS2. I had stitches both times. If your body feels ready, and there's no pain, go for it. But, if there's even an ounce of pain or uncomfortableness, you need to stop.

Unless everything is healed properly, you run the risk of infection. Also, there's the danger of getting air in your vagina, which can cause problems as well. I would suggest flexing your willpower and waiting until they give you the clear.

Honestly...if you're comfprtable with it and your partner is too then its bnot going to kill you. Just remember birth contoel, it is possible to get preg again right away.
