Take it and get it over with, just incase you score low this year, you always have next year to retake it.
They sell books and software on SATs in books stores to get you prepared for the exams. The higher you score on them, the better school you can get into. That the point of SATs.
Good Luck

If you feel you are prepared, why not? Make sure you take it again next year, in case you get a higher score. I'm not aware of any 3-time limit. Colleges will look at the highest score you received. Be sure to get a book on preparing for the SATs before you take them, so that you know what you know what to expect.

a three.a million GPA isn't great, even though it extremely is not poor. faculties do no longer strictly verify out GPA; they think approximately SAT score, greater effective curricular, and others. It truly relies upon on what instructions you're taking. in case you're taking troublesome instructions and getting a three.a million, it extremely is greater powerful than merely taking accepted or honor instructions. I propose you connect some greater golf equipment or activities. additionally, attempt taking AP instructions next 12 months. I propose a million or 2 next 12 months and the three-4 max junior and senior 12 months. do no longer subject approximately SAT till the top of sophomore 12 months, yet once you desire to prepare now, start up by skill of increasing your vocabulary and reading classic books (Of Mice and adult males, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, and so on.) truly study for the SAT interior the summertime next 12 months or visit an SAT prep class. bear in mind, do no longer overload your self with artwork. Juggle a while properly, yet relish severe college!

Actually, you can take the SATs from 7th grade and up, through a program called CTY....the Center for Talented Youth. It's good practice for the future.
I think that it's a pretty good idea to take it earlier. If you do terribly, at least you have a general idea of how the SAT works, and what you need to work on. On the other hand, that's what the PSAT is for, and you could lose a pivotal chance to get colleges interested in you.

You can only take it 3 times? I didn't know that. In any case, it's fine to do that! It's good practice. But if the 3 times thing is true, then I would just stick to taking PSATs, so that you're prepared for your next two. The more you take it, the better you do.

It's perfectly fine to do that, but you can also take it again (and perhaps raise your score) in your junior year. If I'm not mistaken, they'll take the higher score out of the two anyway.
Go to www.collegeboard.com. There's a ton of information there.

Of course it's ok to take it in your sophmore year! I took them as a freshman. But I hated it. The SAT is really a test of endurance, not of intelligence.
