My computer has most of the applications that I use and I do not wan to buy them again for the laptop. Is there a way for the laptop to also share applications not just files over the wireless network I have them connected to.

There sure are!

You can use any VNC program to connect your laptop to your desktop computer, allowing you to use applications on your laptop as though you were sitting in front of your desktop. Several programs are out there. I've listed a few in the sources area below. You might also want to look at Windows' integrated Remote Desktop Connection program, assuming you're running Windows. (If you happen to be running Linux, search Google for information on SSH. It's designed for exactly that.)

Good luck!

I would be surprised if you can share applications like that. There might be something available that you could buy that I do not know about. However, I bet it will cost more than you are willing to pay. Most of those kinds of applications are designed for companies that have dozens of desk-tops and lap-tops sharing applications.
