Indecisive Personality

I see a lot of good answers here, but I'd like to add one. I recently took a test which said I use both sides of my brain equally. Therefore, it said, my logical side is always fighting with my emotional side. This makes it very difficult to know how to make a decision.

Also, I try to take EVERYTHING into consideration, so as not to discount important facts. I research a lot, so I am well informed before coming to a conclusion. Even how I'm going to feel about my decision afterward is a very important fact. So,how can one decide when there are so many factors? Maybe you could call this perfectionism. Certain decisions could have a huge impact on my life for years to come, which in turn affects those around me, and those are the things I'm indecisive about.

One other thing comes to mind. When I'm trying to decide if I should commit to doing something, I know that I'm basically a lazy person. If I commit to doing something, I want to be really sure that it's something that I'm willing to follow through on. There aren't many things I'm willing to follow through on, so I have to put a lot of thought into most things that fall into this catagory, and then I usually decide against it. But I don't want to make a big initial investment of time or money if I don't feel I'm motivated enough to complete my commitment. I don't like disappointing people by not coming through when I've promised that I would.
