"What to expect when you're expecting" is the best one. It's called the pregnancy bible for a reason. There are other good ones, but this one is the best. They also have "What to expect the first year" and a few others. They give more info then all the other ones. If you want a real funny one, then read "pregnancy sucks, what to do when your miracle makes you miserable". It's pretty funny, but has some really good info.

When I was pregnant I just used to read 'Emma's Diary' which I got free in my bounty pack from Boots, it was really good and didn't cost anything! Also I read the free book I got from my midwife called 'pregnancy and birth'. I don't know if this is any good for you but i do know to STAY AWAY from 'the contented little baby book' it is completely useless and I have heard from health visitors that it can cause problems with babies.

I like the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. I found it to be more down to eath adn it had a lot of practical advice that you won't find in the more technical books. There were things to help you cope as well as things to help you have a healthy baby. I found the experience based advice was great.

I found www.babycentre.co.uk really useful through pregnancy and in the early months of motherhood. They have info on everything!
I tried to avoid too many books because they all say something different, but the one I refer to again and again is the No-Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley. It might help you get your little one (and you) into good sleep habits early on.

What to expect when you are expecting is a good book... but the book that I think her name is Jenny McCartney wrote is basicly the same but it is more direct.. The what to expect is more global and Jenny goes into the subject without any shame... LOL
