OK, the Bible defines 666 as the number of the beast. In Kabbalic circles 666 is actually a very powerful number and, as someone else pointed out, falls one short of 7 which is considered to be perfect.
Armageddon is a location, supposed to be the location of the final great battle between the forces of good and evil, order and chaos etc. There are a few places on earth thought to be most likely for it, mainly in the Middle-East.
The Bible doesn't make it clear what 666 as the number of the beast represents, however it is also referred to as the number of Man, so maybe that's a clue. As to whether Armageddon is approaching, I can't answer that one, however I can say that most prophecies relating to Armageddon, End of the World stuff note several signs as warnings of the imminent events, things such as solar flares, comets etc.
If you really want to know more I'd search the internet for information, probably try www.wikipedia.org

There's an Armageddon coming?!?

And me without anything to wear...

Ok seriously, rest easy, this might be a false alarm (and Leviathan, "all those movies... so far were wrong"... hehe, brilliant! Yup, they were "wrong" all right!).

Pattern seeking is something we humans are pretty good at; Likely helped our ancestors survive way back when (lessee, thet striped and clawed thingy ate Billy last week and this kill looks similar to what happened to Billy... um, run!). We inherited the survivors' genes.

That's right chris, its not just your opinion. There is plenty of evidence to support this (see link). We look for something long enough and we can often find many things to fit our (often liberal) definition.

The phrase, "They always die in threes" is a good example: people die by the TENS of THOUSANDS each day on our planet. That we only know of a few is simple probabilty not a "pattern" of death.

I would suggest you note all of your 666 "sightings", and then see if they aren't simply nonexistant, coincidences, or you being very "liberal" in your diagnosis of "a pattern".

7 is the number of Heavenly completion. 6 falls short by one. It's written 3 times (666) for emphasis. If there is a war, anything associated with this number will fail because it falls short of being complete.

If you think about sth all the time or seek it constantly in your everyday life you will finally see it everywhere, for example, if I think that π is the base of everything (if you've seen the movie you will probably know what I'm saying)I will find it everywhere only because I want to...just my opinion though...!

Didn't they recently find out that it was supposed to be 616?

Search online and you'll find an article. Apparently all the movies about the devil so far were wrong!
