Ireland doesn't have zip codes like the US does. Only Dublin has postal codes, the north side of the city has odd numbers, so around O'Connell Street is Dublin 1, while the south side has even numbers, so that Grafton Street is Dublin 2. The Embassy belt is Dublin 4, and D4 is supposedly posh, but then D4 also includes the traditionally more working-class area of Ringsend. The further out from the city centre you get, the higher the number, until you're in County Dublin. I think Dun Laoghaire and Monkstown are County Dublin, for example. Hope this helped.

Ireland Zip Code

Ireland does not use zip codes. Dublin is a bit confusing, because they use numbers to indicate sectors such as D2 and D4 for Dublin, Sector 2 and Dublin Sector 4.

Here is an example:

CLERY & CO
18 - 27 Lower O'Connell Street
Dublin 1
Republic of Ireland

Ireland Postal Codes

In Ireland, only Dublin City has postal codes, and they are really postal districts. The site below gives a list of all Dublin districts and their postal number from 1 to 24.

Odd numbers are addresses on the North side of the River Liffey. Even numbers are on the south side (except for parts of Dublin 8, which encompasses part of the Phoenix Park).

Dublin 1 is the North City Centre. Dublin 2 is the South City Centre.

Ireland does not use Zip postal codes. What area are you looking for and I can help you find the code. For example I am from Dublin 5 which is on the north side.

To clarify some of the answers above. Dublin does not have an American style Zip code reference. It has a Postal Code arrangement for the city. Basically, all areas on the northern side of the river Liffey are coded with uneven numbers from D1 to D17, and on the southern side of the Liffey are coded with even numbers from D2 to D24. On the outer suburbs of the city, to the north is referenced as Co, Dublin or Fingal and the south as Co. Dublin or South Co. Dublin.
