Why is it unprofessional for teachers to kiss or hug or make out with partners when kids/teens can see?

Surely its a good thing to see people in love or showing affection?

And like the teenagers would not be doing the same with their loves?

And maybe help them to relate?

Kiss and make out like you would anywhere else... ie hi honey kiss in the playground.

As for appropiateness... how?

Parents shouls kiss and hug to make their kids more secure. The older siblings do...

Maturity is dealing with accidents and emergencies seriously, of if somones dying or you have reason to be dealiy serious.

Why not be fun the rest of the time?

Ie if kids misbehave then he serious. If not relaxed.

PDA is a good thing... means people are not lonley... when my mates were all PDA its was cool they've pulled, they are happy. Not hurting.

Likewise in nightclubs where 16, 17, 18 year olds are all PDA all over the place Thought thats cool. People got lucky and happy...

its like if bosses sack people for dating surely they deserve to be divorced

2007-01-21 07:28:30 · update #5

Ie those who have a problem with dating or PDA are they not nasty little bully people who like seeing people hurt?

As for keeping private and work lives separate...

How else tdo you meet people when all you time is spent at work or school.

Where work or school is the only place you get to know anyone.

The only people who would date a student surely are those just out of uni in early 20s and 6th formers who both could just as easily have met at a party before the school year started and coupled up.

Like mates in early 20s and late teens I knew... No big deal...

Or other cases when everyone else butted out they gort married... one case lasting 20 years... how long are most marriages?

Is it all just an nasty religious attiude to sex?

I WOULD INSTRUCT A SON OR DAUGHTER TO BE PDA IF THEY LIKE AND BATTER ANYONE WHO STOPPED THEM

2007-01-21 07:33:32 · update #7

Lis by make out I mean kissing or 2nd base.

At which I would expect the class to take the micky and say go sir make her toes curl or other smart *** comments but basically be happy for us like the End of Kinder Garden Cop.

Kids should want to see people in love.

Not saying the plubers should go for a full on sex session.

However if a boss of a compnay and new we had a couple... Would say you two exceed your quota (say sales) for the day you get 15 minutes in the cupboard...

(they should double the quota to get two sessions)

BESIDES OTHER THEN SCHOOL, COLLEGE OR UNI HOW ELSE DO YOU FORM A RELATIONSHIP WITH ANYONE?

IN A BAR OR CLUB ITS ALL PERFECT CHAT UP TECHNIQUE AND ALL LOOK BASED SO YOU DONT GET A CHANCE TO GET TO KNOW SOMEONE.

AND ODDS ARE YOU MATES ARE ALL THE SAME SEX OR ANY ONE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX IS COUPLED UP WITH A MATE.

AND WITH LONG HOURS CULTULTURE WHERE DO YOU GET THE TIME.

PLUS YOU HAVE STUFF IN COMMON

Why do you want to kiss or "make out" in front of teens. That is messed up

teens make out in front of their mates and see it as no big deal.

Why should anyone else.

Love is a good thing not shameful

BEING MATURE

is dealing with accidents,
doing what needs to be done (often means breaking the rules to save someone)
Means you can command respect
You know what you are doing and good enough to be responsible for others.

What has that got to do with bright green hair, embasing your loved one, or what you wear?

No the truth is when we were out clubbing and as teenagers...

People were making out all around us, especailly our friends.

It did not bother us. We were happy friends had pulled. Maybe a bit jeaous we had nobody.

It was normal and as natural as them breahting.

Whilst see coldness and lack of affection as to why everyone divorces and see appropiateness only hurt.

Why this is a problem around kids I have yet to see any evidence.

Only the adults appear to have an issue.

the kids eiterh could not care a jot ...

or just go Sir and (partner) are kissing , kissy wissy wissy

Simply put, it's unprofessional. If you're at a school function, you should be acting as a teacher first. It's acceptable for students to see that you have a spouse, but it's not NECESSARY for them to see that you're great at swapping gum. Kids see enough PDA on television for them to get a good dose of affection and "relate" to it. They don't need to see teachers doing it. It's not necessary. If you're out in public and KNOW a student is around, you should use discretion.

work life should be seprate from personal life. in my school sometimes kids kiss or hug but if they makeout publicly and its upsetting people someone will tell them its inappropriate. surley for teachers its far more innopropriate. it sets a bad example of whats allowed in the "work place of the real world"

also it could make kids uncomfertable. suppose my teacher who is a male just kisses his girlfriend. when they break up i (a female student) notice he seems to be kissing more than one female teacher...then next thing you know, not only is that "okay" in school...but then teachers hitting on students would become a normal thing. School is supposed to be a safe enviroment and teachers being able to show PDA only creates the oppurtunity for administration and students to feel like that is "normal" so when a new teacher flirts with them an alarm wont sound.

Your constant comments are worrying. More comments than answers. If you have that much of a problem, never, ever get a job as a teacher, nursery carer, babysitter, or anything else near kids.

Seriously, if you have that much of a problem with the concept, i wouldn't want you within a 100 miles of my kids.

Ask a TEACHER, ask a PARENT - don't excuse that they are 'bad' parents or teachers ... face it. PDAs are 'age matched'- holding hands is done by kids and seen by kids. Making out is more sexualised and subconsciously suggests 'more' - if you think that is OK for an adult to do near a kid, you don't want to be working near kids.

No one is agreeing with you - surely this must lead you to accept an answer? Also, perhaps you shouldn't ask if you don't want to hear the truth.

this is kinda weird and wonderful. Did the youngster commence up the cuddling. some sons and daughters constantly prefer to hug. As for the kissing, i might in no way kiss considered one of my scholars. now and lower back they are going to run up and kiss me until eventually now i will end them. I in basic terms say "kisses are large, yet no longer at school". There extremely is not any gentle thank you to pass approximately this. the instructor might have crossed the line, and the mum and dad might have crossed the line while yelling on the college. If it grow to be a one time offense, i might enable it slide. If it got here approximately lower back, i might civilly ask the instructor to no longer hug or kiss my youngster lower back. i think of the suing section is a touch overboard. the mum and dad look overly paranoid with each and all of the youngster abuse/molestation contained in the information, that the blow something (that grow to be in all danger completely harmless) out of share.

A teacher giving their partner a simple hug or kiss is fine because children will see that in their parents or even when shopping in town. Heavy kissing is inappropriate though because it makes children, especially adolescents, uncomfortable. They don't like seeing adult authority figures, even their own parents, showing sexual feelings and their needs have to be addressed in a school setting.

The PDA rude applies to anyone regardless if they're a teacher or student. It's also unprofessional to do show PDA on the job.

Students are young and immature. Teachers are mature adults. It is appropriate for each person to behave according to his/her age and situation.
