Ok so Saturday about 1:30 in the morning I woke up with a stomach ache/ cramping my belly was tightning and I felt like I was going to throw up, but it all came to it that I had bad diarrhea, I went to the bathroom four times before I was relieved. Then today Sunday Janurary 21 I woke up feeling contractions with pain/ it felt like radiating pain from my lower back through my legs. very achey- but not extreme. I mean everytime I walked my stomach would tighten up and stay that way, it wouldn't go away, I really didn't time it because seemed like the feeling lasted a long while then went away but then it am back. IT died down some but I have been feeling the acheyness each time by belly tightens. The pain is annoying, but bearable. but still can that mean labor is coming even sooner than I think(by the way I am 37 weeks today)I would think maybe I'm dialating but I won't goto a hospital I am not so sure about all of that. What ya think?

You could possibly be in the early stages of labour. Diarhoea is normally a sign as this is your body,s way of clearing itself out ready for birth. Pains do normally start off like a really strong period type of pain and do get stronger and longer and nearer as time goes on. The midwifes do advise you to try and stay at home for as long as you can, i have to say i do agree with them. Try havin a nice warm relaxing bath to ease your pains once they do get stronger. You will normally get a show once labour is definatly in the early stages. But not every woman and her labour is the same. I am only going off my 2 labours and would definatley give your midwife a call and just explain whats happening just for a bit of reassurance.
Good luck anyway and all the best.

Congrats! I'm 37 weeks too! They say You'll know when you have contractions. The flu like symptoms are classic beginnings of labor signs.
Have you lost your mucus plug? That's a sure sign of dilation.
The next time you think you have tightness time it from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next.
4-1-1 is the rule contractions 4 minutes apart one minute in length for 1 hour. That's when you go to the hospital.
37 weeks is considered full term so don't worry.
Walking and taking a warm bath will help, don't take a bath if you suspect that your water has broken and if you do call your doctor because they don't like you going more than 24 hours.
It's OK to go to the hospital anytime you think you need to, the peace of mind is totally worth it!!
Congrats and Lotsa Luck :)

every labour is different - and can last a long time. i had two labours that lasted longer than 24 hrs.The cramps and hardness of your tummy does sound like you are contracting - but not necessarily dilating. Have you lost your mucus plug yet or waters broken? I would give the maternity ward a ring and tell them your symptoms if you're worried. start timing the contractions and if they are 5 mins between get down tho the hospital. Baby will be fine if born now - he's more than ready - may just be a small baby. Good luck honey!!! xx

You're in early labour my darling! I'd bet on it, don't worry, these feelings could go on for some time, even days although it's unlikely. As I'm sure you know (as you sound pretty sensible!) you don't really need to go to hospital until your contractions have settled down and are consistent - about 2/3 mins apart if it's your first and 5 mins apart if it's your second or more AS LONG AS THE PAIN IS MANAGEABLE. don't be a hero! good luck x

Since it's the weekend call the hospital labor and delivery first. They will probably have you come in and get checked for dilation. It sounds like it COULD be early signs of labor (braxon hicks contractions), but no one can really tell you yes or no. We're not your doctor, just people like you giving out advise on what we think it sounds like. BTW, I'm 36 weeks today and can't wait to get this all over with. I'm so ready. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Hi! I am pregnant right now as well, with twins, due July 4th.
I think you should call your Dr. considering you are 37 weeks, it could be a false alarm to be on the safe side I would definitely make sure all is okay! All the best and good luck on the impending arrival!

while i replaced into 80% effaced and dilated to a three, I had a checkup on a Friday. My wellness care professional suggested i think of you have the toddler this weekend. I had him at here Monday at 37 weeks. Early or latent hard artwork is while your cervix opens to a three so quickly you would be interior the 2nd degree which starts off at a 4. yet do no longer take my be conscious for it!

Contact ur midwife now. U should go into labour within a few hours or days. If the pain gets worse or more frequent then u should be calling ur midwife.
Good luck with the new baby, hope all goes well.

These are definitely signs of your body preparing for labour, but it could still be days. Make sure your hospital bag is packed! Good luck!
