The universal (and cheapest) answer is buy a hub and a cat 5 cable for your laptop.

Easiest way is to buy a crossover cable instead of a standard straight cable (Cat6 not Cat5) and plug in to RJ45 port on NIC card of both computers. May need a 2nd NIC card for the desktop b/c DSL plugs in through same port as crossover cable. Local electronics store should be able to help too when you buy the stuff.

You could buy a wireless router and, depending on the age of your computer, a wireless card (Linksys WRT-54G )AND then go to start then conect to then go to wirles connection or something like that and then tipe ur internet id on the id space then on there on the modem of ur pc for the internet has a code and u put that code where it says password then u click connect

Yes. You need a router(wireless-most likely) or a hub, switch. It's a piece of cake to set up. Just follow the directions and you should be fine. I would recommend Linksys WRT-54G models for your wireless router. They have served me well.

You could buy a wireless router and, depending on the age of your computer, a wireless card, go to any electronics store and they will be able to explain it
