Why is disney killing my childhood? They are coming out with Underdog a live action movie!

I read the discription on Yahoo! Movies, and it sounds like the only similarity between the movie and the TV show is that the dog has superhero abilities. I mean, in the show, he acts like a human (walking, talking, working), not like someone's pet. And why make it live action? I think the plot line works much better with animation. Having seen the original Underdog show, I am not sure how much I will enjoy this movie.

The NBC series was great, so the movie might not Be bad, as long ss the stick To the series and not change anything.
