causing inflation? You never hear them whine about their own wages going up which cause more inflation than it does to raise the wages of the small percentage of people that earn minimum wage. And I bet they get wage increases much more often than once every 10 years.

I see that none of those that are against the minimum wage hike would address your point that their 10% wage increases every year or two causes way more inflation than raising the minimum wage once every 10 years or so.

I guess their feeling is: "I don't give a flying falk if my pay raise causes inflation as long as those losers in the slums don't get pay raises and end up moving out of the slums".

are not getting mad at us on the grounds which you don't understand the thank you to ask a query or piece mutually 3 areas to a puzzle. you're comparing an strengthen salary on 5% of the inhabitants to the standard income by using all workers. So if all workers income 5 cents in spending and one a million out of 20 get a $a million bump, then it equals out. If the agency has one hundred workers, purely 5 are turning out to be a $a million strengthen. He spends $5. If those one hundred workers all jsut have been given a 5 cent elementary strengthen, it relatively is $5 entire going back into the economy. same out - same in. the income to the economy is that the individuals on minimum salary now have greater discretionary spending, vs issues like hire and food. So in case you own something different than real sources or a farm, greater human beings are utilising your centers. the different stupid questions?

It puts undo strain on the little guy who is trying to run his small business and now has to pay higher wages passing it on to the consumer by raising prices. He's forced to cut back on his employee's benefits to pay the higher wages and who really comes out ahead. Face it, minimum wage jobs don't pay the rent. So you have those who use them for second jobs, or are students, or just need some extra money. It could also force some minimum wage earners to have to do the income tax thing. And just FYI it isn't just right wingers.

I, for one, know many that are mad at this because 1. It does not affect them at all, and takes away money from the folks that are employing the people that make minimum wage. 2. Alot of these people that make minimum wage are making minimum wage because they choose to. They Flunk their way through high school, then choose not to go to college, and have to get a low-paying job. Then, they're mad at the world for "dealing them a bad hand" and want higher wages. BUT, their are some that really were handed lemons in life, and need the minimum wage raised. Just my opinion.

I'm not a right winger but raising the minimum wage will only help those who work and collect welfare at the same time. Some of us who work without federal or state aid, without free medical will either lose our jobs and or see higher prices on store shelves. Everybody PAYS for raises, including those who get the raise. Do you think the employers are going to eat that loss? Heck no, they'll either let some of their crew go or raise the price of their products to make up for it.

Because the idea of the minimum wage strikes right at the heart of their paradigm, which is contained in the statement: "If God did not want them sheared, He would not have made them sheep." If you suggest that all "workers" are actually human beings, and not abstractions to be plundered in the grand scheme of things, then you have to address them as all as being "God's Children" worthy of being treated with respect and dignity. They fight to maintain the abstraction with arguments like it will hurt the economy to pay them enough to live on, and anyone who works for wages knows that you can't even live on the recently passed minimum wage. Those who work for wages should not make the mistake of thinking their jobs are sacred, wherever they live, for the global corporations are at war with working men and women all over the world. The profits they make allow them to move their factories anywhere in the world to exploit the cheapest labor possible, without concern for benefits, enviornmental restraints, retirement pay, or any other advantage workers have tried so hard to get in the industrialized world. Treaties like NAFTA and Bush's North American Union http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965
are negotiated to benefit large companies profit margins, and the working middle class can only expect more reductions in their incomes across all geographical borders. The minimum wage is a threat and a blow to the idea that corporations cannot drive your pay even lower in their lust for higher profit margins, and suggests that corporate ideology is morally, ethically and spiritually bankrupt to try to do so. They must not allow this kind of thinking to get out there in the mind of the public or the workers of the world might unite against them and gain really broad public support.

You'll never hear them whine about the extra $100,000 the politicians get here and there, either. Or the plane rides they get, that probably total up to a poor family's total income for a year. Or the billions spent on US aid and weapons to other countries. But when someone wants an extra buck an hour... forget it!

Because well... hmmmm.... they are rich white people who want to keep everyone poor down there so they don't have to risk "their status in America" and they don't want minorities to be able to make a living so that they will have to leave the US making it an overall rich white country... oh and because they are Republican... lol

Not completely, but generally, the republican party is a selfish one. They just don't get it. They are blinded to the real world. They are about what is their's. If you fall down pick yourself up or die. And Bush is their perfect poster boy.
