the "shopaholic" series by sophie kinsella is very good.
so is "the sisterhood of the traveling pants" by ann brashares.
"my sister's keeper" by jodie picoult was an AWESOME book.
sue monk kidd also wrote "the secret life of bees," which wasn't too bad either.
"the lovely bones," by alice sebold was pretty good as well. it might sound strange, but i enjoyed it a lot. it's about a girl who was raped and murdered, and from heaven, she tells the story about how her family, friends, and murderer get on w/ their lives after she's died.
"sushi for beginners" by marian keyes and "the givenchy code" and "the manolo matrix" (both by julie kenner) are both very good as well.

How about the Earth Children's series by Jean Auel. They've got a little bit of everything and are easy to get into. I'm on the third book of the series (5 so far) and I cannot put it down. The first is Clan of the Cave Bear.
Anita Shrieve is a great 'women's fiction' author also, if you haven't read any of her stuff. Light on Snow is a great one by her. :)

The Twilight Series (Twilight then New Moon)- Stephenie Meyer. It revolves around an impossible love relationship between a vampire and a human.
The Tithe Series (Tithe, Valient, and soon to be Ironside)- Holly Black. A "human girl" finds out that she is actually a pixie and must fight against the "bad faeries".

I don't think it's women's fiction perse, but you should definitely read "The Time Traveler's Wife," by Audrey Niffenegger. It's a little romance, a little fantasy, and a little... something else that I can't quite put my finger on. But I own thousands of books, and this is still by far one of the best I've ever read.

A few ideas revolving around women's fiction..."A Circle of Three" by Patricia Gaffney, "Mirror Image" by Sandra Brown or if you want to go more out there like sci-fi, easy read, "A Thorned Rose" by J.L.Ault.

I really enjoyed 'Little Earthquakes' by Jennifer Weiner.
She also wrote 'In Her Shoes', which was made into a movie starring Cameron Diaz. If you have read that book and/or saw the movie and didn't like it, don't be discouraged, 'Little Earthquakes' was WAY better.
Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it.
