a friend of mine has identical twin girls and one has always been bigger than the other weight wise. they are now 18months old and one is a pound heavier than the other. the dr. said this is completely normal. as long as both girls are healthy you have nothing to worry about.

I have twins as well. Congratulations. There is nothing to worry about. Even though they were born at the same time, they are still different people. Especially if they are fraternal, chances are high they will differ weight wise throughout their whole lives. Identical twins are no exception however. One is simply just predisposed to hang onto the weight, or perhaps that one is eating more. My twins are two pounds different from each other.
Remember that your babies are two different people. They will reach all of their milestones at different rates, and that is nothing to worry about. It's hard when you have two, and it is tempting to compare, but don't do it. I have one crawling and one barely rolling over. They will just do everything at their own speeds. As long as they are healthy, then you are set!

Even though they are twins, they may eat different amounts of food or one may be more active than the other.
As long as they are both healthy, don't make yourself ( or them ) crazy by worrying about small differences.
They are individuals -- they will have differences even if they are identical twins.
I am a twin ---- I was always a little bigger than my sister. I also hit all the milestones ( sitting, crawling, walking, talking) before she did. It absolutely does not matter at this age if one is ahead of the other.

Just because they're twins doesn't mean that they will always be exactly the same. They're still two different people all babies develop differently the same goes for twins. Good Luck. I know you have your hands full with two babies.

They are never the same size I dont think. Like, Ashley Olsen is 2 inches taller then Mary-Kate. Of course, Mary-Kate weights less, but thats her fault. Its just different for everyone

Are you seriously worried about a one pound difference? Even if they are indentical it doesnt mean that every little detail will be the same. Try to celebrate their differences and not focus so much on them being the same.

Are they identical twins or fraternal? If they are fraternal, then there's your answer.
