Your comfort is what's important. Wear what's comfortable to you. If a size bigger than what you're wearing feels good, then by all means..wear it. If maternity wear is better, then go for that. And no, it's not too early.

I was shopping for the baby at 5 months and probably a little earlier.

this is a great email listing for people getting rid of stuff for free (such as maternity clothes?) You can also ask for things you need (baby stuff not being used)

When you get there, look on the left hand side. Find your area in the USA, or if you're in UK or what have you. Then choose the state or area. It's free to post there and if you happen to be closet cleaning, it's free to post stuff there too. It's a different way of recycling. I've gotten stuff I needed that way also and got rid of a lot of unneeded things as well. Once you post, the person interested sends you an email through the listing. Then you decide on pickup arrangements.

Well, I am 3 months. And I don't fit into any of my pants. I can not get any clothes yet. I'm on a tight budget so I unbutton them or wear sweat pants all day long lol. It is not to soon especially if you have had a child before. I went baby shopping early because I was too excited. I got bottles, pacifiers, blankets, cloth diapers ( spit up blankets) diapers, a few onsies ( yellows, whites ) toys, teethers, and saftery kits ( thermoniter, nasal asperator, ect ) Most people would suggest to wait till you know the sex, BUT thing that that are harmless. You can get more things later, if you ahve the budget. And don't forget BABY SHOWERS!!! Good luck.

To make your regular pants last a bit longer you can thread a rubber band through the button hole and loop it around the button, but you could also start to buy maternity clothes at this point. If you're itching to go baby shopping, stick to the big things like a crib, changing table, stocking up on diapers and wipes (my hubby had a 3 month supply in the closet before the baby was born and it was a lifesaver not having to buy them at the same time all the medical bills were arriving).

It's never too soon to go baby shopping!! You can buy toiletries, white or yellow vests and babygro's, a moses basket - the world is your oyster.

I started buying the next size up in trousers at first - as some maternity clothes are very big and don't really fit properly until about 7 mths.

Good luck x

When i was preggos with my first baby I was having a hard time fitting into my pants at around 4 months too. Its differant with each female. You can start baby shopping at any time, you dont have to buy clothes but you can buy diapers, bottles, bathing stuff, etc etc. If you do want to buy some clothes you can get nuetral gender colors such as white, green, yellow, beige with little or no designed on them. Next month you should be able to find out the sex of your baby if you want to. Some crib designs would be winnie the pooh, animals, religious (if applicable), anything that doesnt specifiy male or female such as dolls, trucks, sports, flowers. Good luck and congrats!

Do whatever is comfortable for you. I'll more than likely be wearing materinty pants before then with this (my 2nd) pregnancy. Right now it's just the bloating, but my clothes already feel tight, and I'm just 6 1/2 weeks.

As far as shopping, I say go with the neutral stuff or buy furniture now. You will appreciate not having to spend so much later.

God bless!

sweetie i had to start wearing maternity clothes at 8 weeks. its ok. just make yourself feel comfortable. even if that means wearing sweats all the time. it is a little soon to go baby shopping, in my opinion. i waited till about 5 1/2 months to 6 months. if you do go shopping by yellows. something uni-sex. or you could buy boys and girls clothes leave the tags on them and save the recipts and take what you don't need back. i hope things work out for you. have a safe and happy pregnancy. god bless.

I started showing really soon, too... I've been actually wearing maternity clothes since 16 weeks. Now I am 38 and I am not nearly as huge as I expected, so clearly it doesn't mean {thanks God!} that the sooner you start showing the bigger you are going to get. And speaking of the baby stuff - I had everything by the week 20 :) People were telling me how crazy I was, but I just couldn't resist.

You're at that awkward "not showing yet, but too big for my clothes stage". Don't worry, it won't last long, soon you'll need full fledged maternity gear. Until then, buy a few pieces from "Duo Maternity". They are pieces that can used for maternity, yet they can be used after pregnancy as well. So they are perfect for the stage you're in. As for baby things, it's easy to get anxious and excited and want to buy things, but if you are having a shower I suggest you wait until after.

Definitely wear maternity clothes now if you are uncomfortable in your regular clothes. It's not too soon, you're almost halfway through the pregnancy!

Buy lots of neutral baby clothes. Even though you don't know the baby's gender - you could always get more use out of them with future babies.
