Why do some many people that are on this site like horrible music like fall out boy and green day and bad rap music like 50 cent?

I fully agree with you... Although all my friends listen to good music, the genre does not matter, most people will say "rap sucks" or "cRAP" but not all rap sucks, its these new idiots that are comin up talkin about their spinnin rims and how many guns they have. There is still good rap out there, you just gotta be immersed into the music scene to find it, however I love all types of music except classical. Green Day fallout boy and 50 are all a disgrace to music, and any one who likes american idiot is a prime example of the cd's title. Green Day was okay in their day, but they're just terrible now. Fallout boy is girly music... please, and all you ghetto wannabe idiots get a f*cking clue you arent sh!t and you dont know what it is to be gangster, you deserve to die on the front lines. Keep it real, be yourself you dont have to listen to "good" music to be "in", I know I have good taste in music and I am very passionate about music and I probably would be nothing without it and thats all that counts.

When you mention Green Day, you've crossed the line! Maybe YOUR taste in music's horrible and who made you determine what's horrible music and what's good? 97% is the majority, the other 3% don't listen to good music, because the majority determines what's good! And Green Day owns the majority. So tough!

Because 97% of the general public like horrible music. In fact most people don't really listen to the music at all, its all about attracting attention and following a certain image.

I can't help but notice you dont say what music you DO like. I like music where the band plays instruments they know how to play, write their own songs, and sing about issues. I love Greenday etc. for these very reasons.

"Horrible Music" depends on the person; I'm sure some of those who like the bands you mention might think whatever you like is horrible.

'cause they only listen to the music they see on TV...they don't care about the good music that used to be....they don't really know what "music" means...50 cent is not music....it's s**t :P
