BushCo. used the countries Patriotism at the War on terrorism to further it's agenda in the privatization of Iraq's oil.
People are easily motivated if you manufacture the evidence you need to persuade them.
I think if the president had just told the American public he was going after Saddam for human atrocities the people would have been more co-operative and supportive.
But to include Iraq in the global terrorism threat ultimately is what angered Americans who found that not to be true!
Since our invasion there ...we haven't been militarily effective because of the insurgency problem and the secular fighting that has been going on in that area of the world forever!
I don't understand why the Clerics and Muslim leaders of the area don't denounce all of this behavior of their people for the benefit of all Muslims!
They have just as much at stake as we do!

The moment we secured Afghanistan, with Pakistan helping us on the southern side, Osama was bottled up.
At that time, the greatest terror threats in the world were in Iran, Iraq and North Korea.
Iraq was the easiest target of the three, and Iraq was training thousands of terrorists each year in several known training camps.
Invading Iraq made the world safer, especially for non-Muslims. You can call it "bait and switch" if you want, but it only shows how little you know and think about the state the world is in.

No Bait & Switch...Just a change in priorities
Both needed to be dealt with....Saddam wasn't as slippery and made an easier target..Osama will get his, if he hasn't already

You have to ask? Bush said on 9/11 that he wanted to get Osama bin Laden "dead or alive." Then in March of 2002 Bush said he "didn't think much about him." Soon after Bush started pushing the cockamamie idea that Iraq was a "gathering threat and Saddam was seeking WMDs." Anyone remember the wacky phrase he used to scare the bejesus out of people into supporting his rush to Baghdad? "We don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud."
Oh yeah, this was the biggest bait and switch in the history of the United States.

Iraq is a better choice than Pakistan for both a democracy and a war. And Saddam needed to go.
And, finding Saddam has proven that Iraq is a better location.
And, no one has stopped hunting for Osama. He is probably dead.

the kurds dont think so...they were being ethnicly cleansed and bush stopped it. the idea here is, contrary to what ms. pelosi would tell you, ethnic cleansing has no place in a civilzed society. jihad and bin laden are real and recognized threats but thats like asking if afghanistan took our attention away from kosovo...they have little to do with each other, other than terrorism.

They purposely confused the situation to make us think there was a connection. All true and part of the record.
