my mom gave us watermelon and things of that nature at about 9 months, but I do not think that its good for a child to eat reg adult food til after the age of 1. But baby food you can start with the ricey oatmeal stuff at about 4 months and jars of stage one baby food at aobut 6-9 months then go from there. They also have those great fruit and veggie puffs by gerbar that you can use at 6 months and u since they melt in the mouth and they are less likey to choke. I hope this helps.

Most people start baby on baby food by 4-6 months. As soon as the baby is sitting up and noticing what others are eating, he may want to try it. If it is a soft food --pudding, mashed potatoes, yogurt, etc -- and the baby is already used to eating from a spoon -- go ahead and try a small amount.

Do not start more than one new food at a time. Wait at least a few days before trying a second food. This will give you a chance to see if the baby is allergic to a particular food.

Ask your doctor what he suggests -- some doctors would rather you wait until 6 months, others will approve of starting sooner. But, it is still up to you.

My daughter started eating infant cereal at 3 months (due to her doctor) and started eating table food at about 9/10 months. I started off small with the table food. Now shes 18months old and eats alot of table food without complaining :)

Baby food...3-4 months
Table food...9-12 months...

With baby food, you should start out with 1 veggie per week...so that you can see what the baby is allergic to. For instance, peas for a week, no allergic reaction yay! Next, carrots and so on. I recommend veggie and then fruit afterwards, but still carry out that system because then if god forbid, you child has a food allergy, (like mine did) You will know that it was either the squash or the apricot.

Good luck!

Wow, it relatively is poor. I hate it while human beings are uneducated adequate to do issues like that. in case you will get her to eat standard toddler food, provide it a attempt. although, she could reject it on the grounds that she is so used to eating person food. by using 4 months previous she could purely being eating formulation or breast milk and in step with risk fairly rice cereal. yet from what you have suggested, i'm shocked she's even eating her bottle anymore. the two way, do no longer proceed to grant her person food. that ought to reason extreme medical issues, including diabetes in a protracted time.

it is suggested to start baby on baby food, no younger then 4 months, because baby still has a reflex that just pushes food out anyways, but while starting start with a one food substance, such as carrots, or bananas or something where there is only one ingrediant, and keep it for a few days to make sure no allergies arise

the child experts have discovered that a baby's digestive system is not yet fully developed until 6 mos of age. so they now advise parents not to introduce anything other than formula or breastmilk before 6 mos of age. otherwise your baby will get interstinal problems.

When they can sit unassisted, have lost the tongue thrust & are reaching for soft chunks. Before they can feed themselves they aren't ready. Babies aren't meant to be spoonfed globs of pureed goo. Good luck!
