srry dont know but i like to help so lets talk about gas

An air embolism, or more generally gas embolism, is a medical condition caused by gas bubbles in the bloodstream. Small amounts of air often get into the blood circulation accidentally during surgery and other medical procedures, but an air embolism which shows symptoms is very rare. Death usually occurs when a bubble of gas becomes lodged in the heart, stopping blood from flowing from the right ventricle to the lungs.

If you have only 256 megs of ram you are right you are going to need more memory .if your mother board has ddr2 memory you have two option. One you add to the existing 256 buy putting a another stick of memory in memory slot in motherboard.if you add a 512 you'll have a total of 7oo+megs,if you have more than one slot.If you add 1 gig you'll have 1256 of memory. One 512 should be fine alot of times like dell they will put a match pair of 256 together for 512 shared instead so you have to buy another set of 512s to make 1gig.instead of one 512 so alls you need to buy one more.If you buy only one 512 use the other 50 bucks to buy a video card with 256megs and your computer will take off. While your at it go to www.xpboost.com and clean your computer out it will be better than new.Do it you self and save the money.

You can do it either way. Just make sure you get the same type of memory stick. My suggestion would be to take the existing stick with you to the store, and have the store guy match it up for you. Then bring it home and stick them both in. There should be no problem. Me personally....I'd get the one stick of one gig...stick it in, and save the 256 for "just in case" needs. ! gig is more than enough.

If you have a desktop this is easy, pull out your memory card (there will be clips on either side to press on. Make sure you are grounded (touch the case) while you do this. Take the memory card in to a store and say you need a card like the one you have only 1 gb. Then put them both in your computer, make sure they are seated correctly before turning on the power, the clips on each side will click into place. If you are not sure many places will put the memory in for free if you pay for the memory (it only takes 2 minutes)

Getting a new RAM stick only causes problems if the brands aren't compatible with one another. It's kind of like mixing batteries. I wouldn't recommend it, but I've done it before and it has worked. I recommend the 1 Gig stick.

Most likely you will be able to just add 1 memory card of 1 GB to your computer. No it would not cause any problems.
To know what kind of memory card to get for your computer go to www.crucial.com and use the Crucial Memory Advisor™ Tool

How many memory slots do you have... my guess is two if this is a low-end prebuilt system. Yes, you can add a 1GB module to the 256MB but it is best to install matched pairs of memory. Performance wise, go with two 512MB modules. Economy wise, install a 1GB module in addition to the 256MB. Me... I'd just install two 1GB modules and be done with it.

If your machine supports it, you could just add one Gb. It is different for each motherboard. If you go to www.crucial.com they have a memory configurator that will tell you exactly what you need.

I can assume that you have two slots on your motherboard, which memory it supports depends on your motherboard. Check your motherboard manual and find out maximum limit.
I will prefer for single 1GB stick.

Uhh you can only get double RAM each time eg.

And so on... just get a 1024.
