The most authentic jazz station on the air is out of Columbia University. It's ran by the jazz dept. They even did a week long 24 hour tribute to the little known (but amazing) Lennie Tristano. This station is the best thing for getting jazz out there.

Besides playing great jazz, you get to hear first hand stories from the DJs. Phil Schapp is a DJ there. He is like an encyclopedia of jazz, and he knew/knows all the masters.

There play lists are from all the various styles, except smooth.
