Rupees is the official trading currency in India. But all the international currencies can be changed to Indian Rupees at the Airport or any banks or currency exchanges which can be found all over the cities (banks in smaller towns). International credit cards are accepted by all major hotels and shopping malls.
Indian Rupees is divided into 100 paise = 1Rupee. There are 1 rupee, 2 rupees, 5,10, 50,100 and 1000 rupees in currency notes and coins of 25ps, 50ps, 100paise, 200 paise and 500 paise.
It is not difficult to convert other currencies into Indian Rupees.

The Rupee (₨ or Rs.) is the common name for the currencies used in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Mauritius, and the Seychelles; in Indonesia the unit of currency is known as the rupiah and in the Maldives the rufiyah. The Pakistani rupee and the Indian rupee are subdivided into one hundred paise or pice (singular paisa).
