If you don't want to get dark at all---a big hat, zinc oxide on your nose and any lotion with an SPF of 45 or higher. And don't believe the word water proof or all day long protection. Apply generously and several times a day.

The higher the SPF the less dark your skin will be. Or you can avoid the sun. Get a 3rd shift job, sleep all day, shop at 24 hour places, like Kroger, and if you wake up and the sun is still out, find something to do inside. Also, become a vegan and don't take vitamins. The thinner your blood is, the paler you'll be.
Another thing to try is this age-old practice of rubbing arsenic into your skin to kill the capillaries at the surface and thus make you appear even lighter. Or call up Michael Jackson or Lil' Kim and see if you can get the number to their dermatologist.

sunblock actually does not omit every ray from the sun. most spfs block out the uvb ray witch is the burning ray that tans the top 2 layers of the skin and uva goes deeper and tans under the top layers of skin. uvb reddish brown and uva golden brown look. try to find a sunblock that blocks both rays and remember that after some time outside you just need to get out of the sun all together. spfs will only work for a couple hours then you need to put on more.

i burn really easy, and the best sunblock i've ever used is Lancome spf 45. it's about $40 a bottle, but it works better than the 70 spf that i used to get from walmart. even with sunblock i usually burn within an hour, but with the Lancome sunblock i can be out for about 3 hours, before having to reapply.

Clarins UV Plus Protective Day Screen SPF 40, $37. For the city dweller: Apply it just once and it blocks all day. Plus white-tea extract helps protect your skin against pollutants.
Jack Black Sun Guard Oil-Free Very Water/Sweat Resistant Sunscreen SPF 30+, $16. For the sports extremist: This new, fragrance-free formula retains its SPF after 80 minutes of sweating. It's also a natural insect repellent.

Hm... in case you do no longer choose to get tan in any respect, be certain you maintain reapplying sunblock each couple of hours. do you elect sunblock or sunscreen? Sunblock is the actual barrier against the sunlight's rays and sunscreen is the chemical one, the place it works on your dermis. i take advantage of sunblock with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. I heard it must be better. I even have gentle dermis, and those components are much less harsh than components like avobenzone contemporary in chemical sunscreens. there are various articles on blocking off the sunlight, in simple terms Google it.

I get melasma spots from the sun if I'm not careful, and I like neutrogena. There's a kind for faces that's SPF 45 or so that seems to work. If you put this on during the day, and hydroquinone cream on at night to get rid of any dark spots, that should take care of it.

sunblock it wont help to prevent your skin to become black, they usually help you to stop the rays coming from your skin.
even your using sunblock all day and been the sun all day, still make you dark and red.
Its like a shield preventing the rays goes on your skin cell directly, protection for skin cancer..
