it's more liike a mirror effect and i cannot see the taskbar.

A mischievous virus may have set up the screen. Go in and reset your monitor to stretch. If it still is messed up, run a virus scan. Still messed up? Your video card may be going out or a driver may have gone bad. Try reinstalling your monitor drivers or updating them. This doesn't work get a new video card. Good luck.

This depends on the problem. Chances are the desktop background you chose is lited as tiles. Right click the destop and whenthe menu shows up go to proerties-this should show you the desktop tab-go there and look to the left of the choices and see if the bar is on tiles, if so change it to stretch.
