How does one obtain a list of foreclosure houses? I was interested in buying a house but thought that is where I could start. Is the list free and do I have to get it from a realtor?

your best bet is to contact a mortgage banker and ask if they know of a realtor in your area that specializes in selling forclosures. You can then get the info from the realtor for free and I am sure they will be glad to help you buy the house, usually quite a bit cheaper than list price.

There's only one HUD foreclosure available right now in Carter County. It's at 333 C St SE, in Ardmore.

There may also be VA foreclosures and lender owned ones available. Do talk to a Realtor, because they will have the information earliest (sometimes that makes all the difference) and you need to have one to bid for you anyhow. Make sure they're licensed in your state and registered to bid on HUD houses.
