It wasn't the danish National Team (the one that will be going to the 2010 WC) that played against USA's National Team!
It was the Danish League Team that USA played against, which only has players from the Danish League. The Danish League is very weak compared to the strong european leagues. Most of our players on the National team plays in the Italian/Spanish/English/German leagues, so our National Team is obviously MUCH stronger than the Danish League Team.
All in All: Don't measure your strength, compared to european national teams, based on that match.

usa won't be a power in world soccer for years to come... it was just a friendly and it doesn't say much. In Europe there are many teams that would beat usa by a big margin... like england, germany italy, spain, france, czech rep, romania, holland etc. US soccer is by at least 10-20 years behind
