I have to write an essay about myself, if you had to just to describe your life, what would the first sentence be?

No I mean the first sentence of the story, to start it, not a title.

A lot of times the first chapter of a memoir starts with a teaser - a hint of the ending or present day, then leads into something like "To understand where I am now you would have to go back to when I was a little girl..." or something along those lines and proceeds to tell the story from the beginning. I find that approach draws the reader / listener in immediately. I know you said it's an "essay" not a book and asked for the "first sentence" - but this format is just a suggestion. Good luck!

You can do a narrative beginning.

Like start off doing a story from when you were little that sorta represents a big part of you. It can be like 2 paragraphs long.
