As a 14 year old, I think you will be prepared if you have the information that is required for a normal job application. You are correct, the normal resume is for people that have gone beyond high school and college.
Have a prepared list of your school's name, address, and phone number with about 3 people from the school that can be used as a reference. But be sure to ask their permission to use their name as a reference. If they do not give permission, that is one way of saying they would not give you a positive recommendation. That is why you ask first; you only want people with good things to say about your skills and experiences.
Get another three to five people that will be positive references for you (neighbors, people from your place of worship, friends of your parents that have known you for a few years). Again, get their permission to use their names first.
Know your Social Security Number and be ready to put it on the application. You will have to show the card to a potential employer to prove your status.
Write a short paragraph that tells why you want to work for this company. You will probably not have to write it for them, but you want your thoughts on paper so you can answer the question when they ask.
My first job was washing dishes and dipping ice cream cones; later I became a waiter and made more money. I had no intention of doing that job forever, but you never want to tell the hiring manager that. They MAY be doing that work forever and you do not want to make them made by putting down their line of work.
Good Luck!

My son wanted to get a job in Texas. He is 15. I called the Texas labor commission to see what the rules were for teenagers. They sent me a form to fill out with the policies like kids can't work past 9:00 pm on week days and they can only work for so many hours, stuff like that. They also required I send a picture of my son. They then sent him a card to show employers he was given permission to work with his social security number and personal information. He didn't have a resume either so we made one.
First you put your name, address, and phone number in the middle of the page at the top. Be sure you type this resume. Then you put an objective next like: I want to work to gain work experience or I want to work to earn money for college. Then you put down your work experience which you don't have none but you can put something like: June 2006 to August 2006 ( summer job)
babysitting-$5.15 per hour
reference: Mrs. Jane Smith
979-864-0000
Then you put your hobbies: swimming, skateboarding, etc.
Then you put your skills: fast learner, can work copy machine, filing, good communication skills.
Then you put 3 references who can say something good about you; Put name, address, and phone number. If you need some more help, email me at mysticmoonprincess01@yahoo.com and put resume in the subject line...Since you are just 14, you might want to do some volunteer work and you can then get some experience and some references. You could also put an add in the paper and do something like will water your plants and feed your animals while you are away on vacation. Will visit with your elderly while you shop. Stuff like that.Sometimes veterinarians use teenagers to clean out the kennels....good luck,,,,,
