We went with Pets Best and have really liked them. You're smart to insure your kitten while she's little before anything is labeled pre-existing.

Also, one of the reasons we went with Pets Best was because I had heard similar complaints to the ones above and know that Pets Best won't consider something pre-existing if you sign up BEFORE the condition starts to show itself. I've heard some companies will drop you at the renewal period, which was frightening, so we went with Pets Best. I also liked that they paid based on the vet's actual bill and not based on what the insurance company is willing to pay for a certain procedure.

Good luck!

I looked into pet insurance, and did not like what I saw.

Most of the vets will make you pay them and wait for reimbursement for the insurance company. Also, they did not pay for routine vet care and had limits on what they would pay each year.

The thing that I found most disturbing was this: If your pet is diagnosed with a disease today the insurance will cover related expenses until your policy renewal, then that disease becomes a pre-existing condition and they will not cover any related expenses for that disease.

What I chose to do was to open a savings account for vet care/emergencies. I put $20 out of every paycheck into that account. Now, if I get a big vet bill I have the $$$ to cover it.

i'm no longer a pug proprietor, yet a dogs proprietor with puppy coverage. we've VPI. the component to keep in innovations is that with any plan, you will pay finished cost up the front and then post a declare for compensation. I pay round $30 a month for finished coverage. VPI does have a chain quantity of money that they pay for each technique, vaccine, and so on. so as that they in user-friendly words pay area of your finished bill. I merely had annual photos executed, and that i paid $one hundred fifty. VPI will probable reimburse me $seventy 5 or $80. That stated, very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days my dogs developed a foul bacterial an infection and had to bypass to the Emergency Vet. I walked out with a bill of close to to $1500. i become reimbursed $1200 of that. I had had the coverage for a three hundred and sixty 5 days at that aspect, so $30 x 12 is $360.00. you'll locate that I made out, huge time. All in all, i might want to recommend it. merely make effective you examine the advantageous print and get a coverage which will be best for you.

I use Banfield Pet Hospital, and am on their cat/dog health plan. Thus far, with 2 cats and a dog, I have saved a lot of cash just in tests and shots alone. Check with your local vets, and see who has what. Banfield is generally found at your PetsMart store.

Argos do a pet insurance that seems good, http://www.argospetinsurance.co.uk or pick up a leaflet in store.
For a Cat on Silver cover it is £3.99 a month and Gold Cover is £5.29 a month - great price i think.

Try Tesco and get a discount if you apply online. I had both my dogs insured with them and never had a problem with them paying claims and now have my cat insured with them, thankfully without making a claim.

I think the whole pet insurance thing is a scam... you dont get enough for what they require you to pay , especially the wellness plan at banfield.. i took my puppy to banfield.. and did the welness plan. and i have spent about twice as much as i did at pet vet... plus had to make twice as many trips.. dont recomend that... better off to put your money into a savings account.. its there if you need it.. and if you dont.. great..
