My sister is pregnant for the first time and now is in her second trimester. She hasn't been mentioning the gender of the baby though, maybe to surprise us later on.
My mother thinks she is having a boy since she has not had morning sickness at all. She said (my mom) that when she was pregnant with girls she was sick a lot, but with my brother she wasn't.

Is this a possible way to determine the gender?

I'd wish she'd tell us soon so i can go shopping for baby clothes.

I had one girl and two boys and wasnt sick with any of them, I carried them all the same way too. The only way to know for sure is when they are born!!!!!!

just because you don't have morning sickness does not mean it is a boy, that is certain. I am having a boy and I was sick to my stomach until 16 weeks. I didn't even gain weight at all until at least 19 weeks because I had morning sickness so bad.

No there is no sure way of knowing. All that crap that so say can predict the gender doesn't always work. Just to joke around before I found out I tried doing things that so say predicted the gender all said I was having a little girl. Well after 3 ultrasounds it is very clear that I am having a little boy

No - amount of morning sickness is not a way to determine gender. It's an old wives' tale that has no basis in fact. Sorry!

You can still shop for baby clothes...you just need to look for gender-indifferent outfits. Greens and yellows are good for either a boy or a girl. :)

When I had my son I didn't get sick at all, but my best friend just had a daughter and she wasn't sick at all either. Don't believe the old wives tales... you have a 50/50 chance of being right. Just wish for a healthy baby.

As for clothes- pale green and yellow is cute! However, I never did put my son in yellow stuff unless he was wearing jeans.

Instead- get her a basket full of diapers, and hooded towels, and washclothes, and bubble baths, burp cloths, stuffed animals, blankets, hairbrush, and fun things that are for the bathtub. You will have all the time in the world to buy cute clothes for your new niece or nephew!

No, unfortunately all of the "ways" that they say to tell if you're having a boy or girl is just rumors. I personally was sick a lot and I have a boy.

Maybe she would like to be surprised herself which is why she isn't telling the gender.

You cannot tell gender by morning sickness..for every woman who says their girls made them sick you'll find someone to say the opposite.
If you want to buy clothes you can buy socks, tee shirts, sleepers and onsies that a white, yellow..any color except pink will do for either sex. Have fun!

no, not having morning sicknessis not a way to determine the sex. ask your sister whether or not she knows what she is having. it is possible that she is not yet in her 16th week. if this is the case it is to early to know for sure.you could also take your sisters birth date and conception date and check on the Chineese pregnancy calendar. here is a site.

I had morning sickness with my boys and not with my girl. So. I don't think you can tell from having morning sickness. Tomato juice was a killer for me.
