call around and see if someone will do a compression test for you
i like to drive around and go to a not so busy garage with my short shorts n ask big boy can you do me a favour? i want a compression test on my engine, can you do it to me? is it expensive
i bet you won't need to go to two shops b4 the first one obliges you
all cylinders should be equal in psi [pressure] big boy should be able to tell you 120 or 140psi for your motor, if he can keep his eyes off yer ****
most importantly keep your fluids under a close eye
your oil needs to be clean, use the same one over and over
use ONLY what the manufacturer recommends for the vehicle
change it every season-oil change sale $19.95
oil needs to be full at all times
NOT over fill just to the fill line, with car on flat ground
its better to be a little less than more [too much pressure]
check oil with car off
eme an i'll tell ya how to change it self
txmission fluid, same thing only changing fluid once a year is ok
check tranny fluid with car on
antifreeze change start of summer n start of winter
important 50% anti n 50% pure water [ well mixed ]
keep your cars fluids under a watchful eye
and she will purrrform fer a long time

A 1999 Honda with 132K? This car is still a baby. If it's not burning oil or thowing it out, then you should be fine. Advice. Never let a engine overheat and change the oil 3mths or 3k and it will last a long time.

If the car runs smoothly and isn't making any ticking noises the motor is fine. Also look to make sure it's not leaking oil. I've known several people that have owned accords that still are alive with over 200,000 miles.

Take your car to a mechanic and ask him or her to perform a compression test. This will measure the amount of compression in each of the engine's cylinders and give you a good idea how sound the engine is. If one or more cylinders measures significantly less compression than the others you've got problems. If they all measure about the same, you're good. The mechanic who does the test can help you understand the results.

check the spark plugs for their condition
also check the water resovoir for signs of

for signs of off white creamy looking deposits (mayonaisse) on the underside it indicates a
"blown head gasket" listen for engine knocks
ticking noises or mettalic grinding noises, jap cars
