I have been off BC for a month. My husband and I have had unprotected sex during that time. I have abdominal cramping, but when my period finally did start it was just light spotting and it was brown (sorry, I know its a bit gross). Is this just my body getting readjusted or could i be pregnant? I have no other symptons.

It's kind of tricky when you go off the BC, you can spot and have cramping. It is possible to become pregnant immediately after stopping the pill, although they say for most people it takes at least a few months. You could very well be pregnant, or just be experiencing effects of stopping the pill.

I've read that it can take up to 3 months for a woman to get her period back.

PERSONALLY, I took my first 3 pills of the pack, then stopped, because we decided to get pregnant. Within 7 days or so I had a very very light "period." It lasted maybe 2-3 days, and I only really needed a liner. (I'm yet to figure out if this was implantation bleeding, or a result of going off the pill.) Anyway, I got pregnant that month. (I didn't have any other symptoms either.)

SO, if the period you experienced wasn't like your normal period, you still could be pregnant--it could be implantation bleeding. It is possible that the bleeding was a result of going off the hormones.

Go ahead and test--just to make sure.

nope. you would be waiting to get pregnant once you pass off start administration. having a era isn't medically needed. back while start administration replaced into progressed, the docs theory it may be reassuring to women to have their era each and each month so they may be confident they weren't pregnant...have a large time on trip.
