2002 FIFA World Cup qualifier
UEFA European Group 9
Saturday, 01 September 2001
Olimpia Stadium, Munich, Germany
GERMANY 1-5 ENGLAND
this one has to be among the best match i have ever witnessed, ENGLAND were 1-0 down when Carsten Jancker gave GERMANY an early lead but ENGLAND drew level thru Michael Owen soon after. Steven Gerrard gave ENGLAND a 2-1 lead just before half-time, scoring his first international goal.
it was ENGLAND all the way in the second half, when Michael Owen scored two more goal & Emile Heskey round off a remarkable victory for ENGLAND.
ENGLAND qualified as group winners that year leaving GERMANY to square off against UKRAINE in the play-off which they also qualified.

Chelsea 4 Liverpool 2
An FA cup 5th round tie from 1997 on route to Chelsea winning the cup.
Chelsea are 2 - 0 down at half time to goals from Fowler and Collymore.
Chelsea play the second half with a frontline of Mark Hughes, Gianluca Vialli and Gianfranco Zola. Sparky & Franco get one each and a couple for Vialli! Magical match, magical atmosphere, I've been to see the title winning team many times snce, but haven't seen a match quite as good as that!

real bit of giant killing. England expecting to just turn up and win but the football gods had other ideas that night.
what made it even better was being able to stick it up those few very pompus (not everyone) England fans who decided to ambush our beloved little Internet site dedicated to norn iron before the game. didn't see too much of them after the game though.
have to laugh at those guys harking back to 1966. I'm sure they wernt even born then!

It has to be Manchester United - Ipswich Town in 1995. UNITED WON 9 - 0!! It was a great match and I'll never get tired of watching it.

1970 world cup semi final
Italy 4 West Germany 3 - utterly brilliant game with both teams tied at 1-1 after 90 minutes; Franz Beckenbauer played extra time with a dislocated shoulder in the Mexican heat.

Everton vs Bayern Munich at Goodison Park in the European Cup Winners Cup in 1985......we came back from 1-0 to win 3-1 and go through to the final (which we won 3-1 against Rapid Vienna in Rotterdam....another game I attended)......the atmosphere that night was electric......50,000 plus Evertonians and a few Bayern fans.....and it was a night game, which are always better in my opinion.....
