When i watch episodes of the Simpsons, they seem to have lost something comapred to older episodes, and ideas anyone what it is?

The first 6-7 seasons had the Simpsons satirizing many features of the dumb sitcoms covering the rest of the TV schedule. But the show has transformed into one of those dumb sitcoms. I understand theat around that time Matt Groening's involvement with the show diminished--probably not coincidental with the steady decline in quality.

They've changed the focus from Bart to Homer, so it seems less childish and funny, instead it's like "what a bummer that happened to Homer!" That's what I've noticed. Good luck.

I totally think that somethings' missing from the show lately. I still laugh so much harder at the old episodes. I do think it has something to do with them aiming to please the citcom audience - I dunno the humor just seems ignorant, plain and mean....
