What do you think about that type of arrangement and how many marriages would be terminated each year?

I'm only asking this bc someone I know suggested this and I thought it was somewhat odd.

I am sure U could make it legally binding,
roommate or partnership agreement...
however,
it only works if both people want 2 play that game ;)
just like marriage,
just because U get married
does not mean U will stay or continue 2b awe sum......

No, I don't like that idea. I think that it would cause a lot more people to give up on their marriage because of little things. Right now they say that the average is 50% of marriages end in divorce, so I would have to say that with something like that, the amount of divorces would increase.

Some would say that because a person can file for divorce at any time, there already is a similar "arrangement," but I feel that a lot of divorces are stopped because people realize that if they put the same amount of time into working on their marriage as they would filing for divorce, their marriage actually has a chance.

That's not a marriage, it's a lease...you're leasing a relationship for "X" period of time and having to renew that when the time frame has ended.

What would be the point? Just don't marry if you don't foresee or desire it to last long term. Even though many marriages don't last excessively long, the typical idea when going into it is that it will.

Marriage should remain the same as it has for centuries. It is supposed to be a sacred bond between a man and a women. Not to be renewed. It is a life long sentence that people take too carelessly these days. It's too easy to get divorced.

Bad Idea

Each marriage has its ups and downs if ppl actually take the time to work out their differences there would probably be less divorces (and if they took the time to get to know each other before they hitch)

If that's the case, then what's the reason to get married if you have to renew your marriage every year like you do your drivers licence every 5 years?

I think it's a horrible idea.

When you get married you get married for life!

I think it a bad thing. People would tend not to work hard on their marriages because they can get out of it easier. I think there would be alot more divorces.

right this is an extremely elementary nacho dip that tastes mind-blowing! a million kit Velveeta mexican chese (you're able to do relatively spiced or elementary) a million can Hormel chili +/- eco-friendly onions soften it in an oven-risk-free bowl interior the Microwave or oven (for although long it takes to be all melted) stirring at times, and eat it with tortilla chips. it relatively is mind-blowing!!

Your idea has merit, but what sinks marriage is usually when people choose the wrong person. Nothing really can charge that.

Bad idea.
Then what is the point of even getting married? It would just give people the idea that its OK to walk away from your problems. Instead people need to learn to deal with any problems life gives you.
