I DID choose one city in the world to live in and I chose a suburb of Salt Lake City. Oh, my gosh, it is so beautiful here. My house is on the edge of a cliff overlooking the rocky mountains. I can see parts of two cities far below me and the lights are beautiful at night. I have lived in several cities all over the world, but this is the one I chose to call home. I hope to be here forever.

San Francisco. Love that place. Beautiful, good climate, fun place. Close to everything, mountains, snow, desert etc.

Now if you hadn't specified a city it would have been the log cabin i lived in around Springdale, Washington. Beautiful and very peaceful.

I'd pick a smaller and warmer city than Chicago simply because I've been here all my life and a change would be good.

I would love to live in Yellowknife, North-West Territory, Canada, because my son lives there and also life is much simpler there, and cleaner, although in the winter it can get - 40 degree celcius.
But clean air and water, lots of snow and northern lights, awesome.
