My fish is pooping a lot. I mean A LOT! He hasn't been eating and its water has been getting really dirty because of this. This has just started but i have had this fish for about 7 months. Thanks!!

i now have to change his water every 2 days because it is always so cloudy.

He may have bloat or another condition. Withhold his food for 12 to 24 hours and watch for any other signs of problems. Are his scales sticking out? That may be bloat. Does he have any sores? That may be a bacterial or other kind of infection. Do you see any strange things sticking out of his body? That might be parasites.

Different kinds of fish have different possible problems so do a web search for that kind of fish and the specific problems it is having.

When was the last time you did a water change for your fish? They should be done at least bi-weekly. Water changes are also the best remedy for most problems with fish, so it's a double benefit. You make the water healthier for your fish and they feel better because of the clean water.

I would call the pet store and ask them why it is pooping so much. I could not tell you.
