The idea dates back to the founding of the Republic and involves taking a percentage of the military budget and applying it to peaceful activities.

I think it is a great idea. Since we have a 'defence' department it seems the language allows for endless funding of our tax money to be on the defensive in this country. I'd like to see money that actually goes into a dept. that is pro active in solving problems in a non-military way so we can have peace. A department that uses our minds rather than brute force that comes to a solution. We certainly haven't tried that approach yet, it would be a nice change for the better.

N O!!!This idea does NOT date back to the founding fathers, but as far back as the '60s and '70s. Kucinich is Socialist and should go back to Ohio.

Another Place to Put Liberal whiners and pay them for nothing and of course tax us for it.

I am well versed on early American History where do you have information that says the Founding fathers wanted a "peace Commision"??????

And Please Wikipedia is not a "real source" as it can and Has been blogged without fact or source before and sued accordingly.

Dennis Kucinich was the only mayor to bankrupt an American city.He spends most of his time taking pot shots at the President and all his ideas are wishful.

that's the stupidest idea I've heard from the Democrats in a long time. It will do nothing except eat more tax dollars and expand the government even more. The last thing we need is more government expansion especially on such a terrible idea like this one.
