Go ahead, I actually recommend it. It is beneficial for the snake to smell the rats. This is called enrichment and makes the snake look around his tank for the mice. It is like being in the wild and actually hunting. This promotes exercise for the snake. Also I do not recommend feeding the snake the mice (if that's their purpose) in the snakes cage. Over time this will create a feeding response over time when you open the tank. The snake will think it is feeding time and is more prone to strike. A Tupperware container kept separate is recommended (large enough to be comfortable and strike). This also makes the snake happy to be taken out of the tank because it thinks it might be fed. Another note is I do not recommend feeding you snake live animals, mice can bite, and carry live para cites that might be harmful to your snake. It is also just more humane to the animal, and cheeper.

We actually have our feeder rats in the same room as our snakes. Each of them has escaped their cages and no harm as become of the rats. Just make sure you keep the rats far enough away from the snakes so they can't see them. Thus keeping them from striking the glass.
As far as feeding them inside their cages, you can do this with no problems. We have had both of our snakes for over a year and I havn't even been struck at. As long as you are handling them frequently (about once a week at minimum) you won't have problems. If you only open the cage to feed them and do not handle them then the snakes will associate the cage opening as feeding time. But since you have to change the water at least once a week and clean the cage, this won't be a problem.

Okay i'm not sure what your asking. But if you have too snakes dont put them in the same cage or dont put the cages next o each other... and when you feed reptiles exspecially snakes, dont feed them while their in there cage because they will always think that's there teritory and get very visious(dont know how to spell it) but it's opkay to keep them in the same house

Yes; My sister has two snakes (in different cages) next to each other andless then 2 ft away is a rat who's never been happier because we spoil her with treats. They'll be fine.

You can, but if you do you will havve to take a chance of the reptile getting out and killing the rat. It's not a good idea unless they are in seperate rooms.

Yeah, its no big deal. Just don't put them where they can see each other. You're rats might have heart attacks or your snakes could seriously hurt t hemselves if they strike the glass. Just keep them in seperate room and you should be just fine.

I don't advise to let them smell each other with a glass between them. But if snakes are small enough, you can keep them together in not hot conditions: only hungry snakes begin hunting and small snakes don't hunt at mice.

Um....You could but you would have to keep them pretty far away from eachother. It would also be a good idea if they didn't even know about eachother being in your house.
P.S. They wouldn't get stressed out they (the snake) would try to escape to get the other one.
