It does sound like a long time for diarrhea. Try putting him on BRAT(bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) for a few days and see if that helps at all. If it doesn't then I would take him in for a second opinion...it can't hurt.

My grandson has had diarrhea often since he started eating solid food. He's 16 months. I know it's not the same but try to keep a list of what foods he's been eating. He could have developed a food allergy or maybe he's been on some medication that isn't agreeing with him. Certain antibiotics can give you diarrhea. Oh, I just remembered that my best friend's kids used to get diarrhea when they were teething. Just some suggestions. Good luck with him.

along with pedeolite you can also try introducing probiotics, this will help regulate intestinal flora which in turn will help clean up digestive track. My son had same problem a few months back, the pedialite helped keep him hydrated and the probiotics seemed to help almost immediately. I would still consult the physician first but many don't think about probiotics as a solution because they can't write a prescription for it.

When my son had diarrhea (rota virus) our Dr. suggested we take him off all milk products, he was on formula @ the time so we switched him to a soy base.
When the bowel has been irritated by something like diarrhea it cannot tolerate milk proteins.
I would take him off cow's milk for at least 2 weeks, if tat doesn't help go back to your Dr.
Good Luck

I would take him to another dr. as dehydration is a HUGE issue in a young child. I would take him off the juice give him Pedialyte to help regulate his electrolytes. TAKE HIM TO THE DOCTOR again!
It should have cleared up by now..

Take him to another doctor and start giving him Pedialyte. You can find it in the baby/toddler section in your local grocery store. Pedialyte helps against dehydration due to diarehha and/or not eating or drinking.

Please make sure he is getting enough liquids...diarhea is a very quick route to dehydration. I would really get a second opinion, and immediately...and perhaps lay off of any cows milk products for a little bit, if applicable - perhaps it's an intolerance. He really needs to be seen....

Give him some Pedialyte. It works well. We had to give it to our son a few times. Plus they like the taste.

1) get a second opinion
2) closely watch what he's eating, maybe its an allergy to something he's eating
3) make sure you're giving him pedialyte
4) try the b.r.a.t. diet -banana,rice,applesauce,toast. it works for diarrhea or constipation.

2 weeks is way too long, take him to another doctor now. He probably isn't getting enough nutrients from his food because it is leaving his system too quickly.
