Celeron is a cheaper option which uses more power & gets hotter fast & also slow. Centrino is better than celeron. Celeron however is far behind amd turion. Infact, turion is better than centrino too.

Celeron is more of an "efficiency" chip - slower - ... it actually burns hotter, is slower and in laptops, uses more battery power.... may affect the life of the computer.

Centrino is a better chip, usually costs more - both made by Intel, usually put on better laptops, don't burn as hot and better on batteries.
