Probably because he's a smart man and he knows that Hollywood romances just don't last. He probably wants to avoid the trouble.

He WAS married when he was very young to Martin Balsom's daughter Thalia. It didn't work out and he decided he probably wouldn't marry again. His decision of course, nothing nefarious.
Not everyone wants to be MARRIED or should be married anymore than anyone should automatically have children or want children.
