I worked for a bloke once who would think absolutely nothing of bawling you out in front of the whole office for the most piffling of reasons and he would call you the most horrendous names. The veins would be popping out of his neck!

One morning, we were all in the office and KNEW he was in a foul mood, which made him ten times worse than usual. He stomped over to my desk around ten and said 'Photocopy this you fat cow'...after biting my lip at least four times that week already, I finally snapped. I shouted 'Well take your trousers down and remind the world what small is like' and then I threw a newly obtained beaker of ice cold water at him...then the phone off my desk. The entire office heard me.

By five past ten I was looking for a new job and left to some very admiring nods from the other staff.

He had a heart attack three weeks later. I guess what goes around...

My most recent office manager is/was the worst. We're in transition right now and they're looking to hire a new one. We actually had 2 office managers. One who was our supposed on-site manager that was never around except maybe one day a week. The other days she was at the other office that she managed (they gave her our office to manage about 9 months ago and so we were like the job she didn't want). Over her was another lady who was an Assistant to the CEO of the company. She is a complete and total B****.

They wanted to transition us to run like the other offices in the company and our doctors finally saw what they were doing and put a stop to it. We're not sure if that stop is just temporary or not.

Luckily, I'm going on maternity leave in March, so I might be able to find out from co-workers how things are going and decide if I want to go back or not.

Not going to name any names here... but the last company I worked for, I had the worst boss ever. He would call from our main office and curse you over the phone, tell you that you were unfit to work there, and before hanging up tell you "have a nice day". It did not take me too long to quit.

There were three of us in the office. Supervisor, Deputy & Assistant in the Payroll Department for a local newspaper.
The Supervisor was the worst bully ever. She tutted all day. She tippexed out things we had written, wrote exactly the same things but in a different order, commented on our replies while we were still on the telephone answering queries from staff, made personal comments about our weight, hair, clothes, anything to belittle us.
She totally robbed us of our confidence. When she went on holiday she stressed about it for weeks beforehand & when she came back she kept saying "I don't know why i go on holiday, I have all this mess to sort out on my return". The truth is there was no mess, everything was done & done correctly.
One girl who worked for her about 20 years ago still gets panicky if you say the supervisor's name.

regrettably interior the eating place employer, that happens. whether your boss has no existence and seems to desire to take that out on the those that do have a existence, i could have civilly informed him that I even have plans that i won't be able to alter and does no longer have the skill to artwork. If i grow to be placed able to choose between my job and my plans, then i could merely artwork and discover the thank you to mindset my boss with reference to the area. some human beings fail to realize that merely because of the fact they're depressing, something of the international do no longer could desire to be.
